St Ives has long been famous for the quality of its light and its stunning scenery. Artists have been drawn to St Ives since the early 19th century and are still in the town living, visiting and working. We are lucky to have many high quality galleries in the town including the world famous Tate St Ives, The Hepworth Museum and the Leach Pottery.

During our Artists of St Ives walking tour you will gain an insight into the lives of the artists who came to this small remote fishing village during the twentieth century, and established its reputation as one of the world’s foremost centres for modernist art.

Our tour will take you to all the notable places of interest around the town and we will bring these landmarks to life for you, providing an intimate insight into the lives of the artists living and working in this unique colony.

Who will enjoy The Artists of St Ives?

Although the tour is focused on the fascinating history of art in St Ives, you do not have to be an art buff, or even have a keen interest in art to enjoy this walking tour. The tour is primarily about the people who brought the town to the attention of the art world – how they arrived, where they lived and worked, and the friendships and relationships that created a world-famous centre of modernist art.
